StanChart
CEO of Ghana Heights Ltd v.s. Standard Chartered Bank.
Mr. Akwasi Boakye Osei, the CEO of Ghana Heights Limited took a Court action against the Standard Chartered Bank in May 2014 for failing to honor five cheques he had issued even though his account was filled more than enough at all material times.
He claims that the bank has caused him embarrassments, financial losses, a doorway to face Court actions from revenue agencies, and making him a victim for Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) threatening to auction his Adwoa Adjeiwaa building at Osu to fund his indebtedness to the assembly.

After a long Court battling between the two parties, the Fast Track High Court presided by his Lordship Justice K.A. Ofori Atta ordered Standard Chartered Bank to pay $14 million to Mr. Akwasi Boakye Osei for wrongfully refusing to honor cheques issued by him.
